Why is support so important?

When it comes to over coming an addiction, complimentary health can provide a variety of benefits that support your journey towards a smoke-free life. Some of these benefits include:

  • Stress relief: Quitting an addictive substance can be an extremely stressful experience, both physically and mentally. Practices like meditation and yoga can help reduce stress and promote relaxation, making it easier to cope with the cravings and anxiety that come with quitting.
  • Improved mood: Withdrawal can often lead to irritability, mood swings, and even depression. Alternative forms of medicine, such as aromatherapy or herbal remedies like St. John’s Wort, can help boost your mood and alleviate symptoms of withdrawal.
  • Detoxification: most addictive substances introduces a multitude of toxins into the body, and quitting can cause these toxins to be released. Complimentary health practices like acupuncture and herbal remedies can help support the detoxification process and reduce the severity of symptoms like headaches and fatigue.
  • Increased self-awareness: Quitting  is not just about breaking a physical addiction; it also requires a shift in mindset and behaviour. Complimentary practices like meditation can help increase self-awareness and mindfulness, making it easier to identify triggers and make conscious choices to avoid them.
  • Support for cravings: Certain herbs and supplements, such as lobelia or passionflower, have been found to have a calming effect on the body and can help reduce cravings.

The Facial Acupuncture component can be beneficial in the following areas:

  • Tightens pores and brightens eyes
  • Tone sagging areas of the face
  • Bring more firmness to the sagging skin
  • Eliminate fine lines and diminish larger wrinkles
  • Decrease puffiness and sagging around the eyes
  • Reduces stress and promotes total health and well being
  • Increase Facial Muscle tone through improving collagen production
  • Reduce double chin, sagging neck and lift drooping mouth and eyelids
  • Bells Palsy and Stroke recovery
  • TMJ (Jaw) problems or stiffness
  • Reduces symptoms of Neuropathy
  • Enhance the radiance of the complexion

As a result of these effects, fine wrinkles will disappear and deeper ones will be reduced. This treatment is not merely confined to the face, but also incorporates the entire body and constitutional issues of health from digestive issues and lack of energy, through to stress, depression and much more.

Each treatment involves the insertion of tiny acupuncture needles into specific areas of the face, ears, neck, hands, feet, and legs to affect changes in the face as well as the whole body. On your first visit, we discuss your overall health history, including any physical, mental or emotional issues in your life that you feel you want to work on. We will evaluate what changes you would like to see in your face and skin as well as discuss your overall health goals, and then begin your treatment. Ultra fine needles are inserted while you are relaxing and lying down on a comfortable massage table. Once the needles are in place, you rest for 20-30 minutes. Facial acupuncture treatments are not limited to just acupuncture. They quite often include massage, jade roller and/or derma rollers, application of select herbal washes/toners/moisturizers appropriate for your skin type and tone, and end with a mask application if requested. In general, the treatments are very relaxing and take anywhere from 75-90 minutes.
