THe benefits of Acupuncture and active release therapy (ART)

Acupuncture and active release therapy work together by complementing each other’s effects in promoting pain relief, faster recovery, enhanced relaxation, improved range of motion, and targeted treatment.

Acupuncture stimulates specific points on the body to improve blood flow and circulation, reduce inflammation, and promote healing. This can help to alleviate pain and aid in faster recovery from injuries or chronic conditions.

Active release therapy, on the other hand, focuses on breaking up scar tissue and adhesions in muscles, tendons, and ligaments. This helps to improve movement and function in the affected area and can also reduce pain. It works by applying pressure to specific areas while the patient moves through a range of motion exercises.

When combined, acupuncture and active release therapy can enhance each other’s effects and provide a more holistic approach to treatment. Acupuncture can help to relax the body and mind, making it easier for active release therapy techniques to be performed effectively. It can also help to reduce any discomfort or pain that may occur during the therapy session.

Aside from their complementary effects, active release therapy and acupuncture also have individual benefits that make them effective treatments on their own.

Active release therapy has been shown to improve range of motion, reduce pain, and restore function in individuals with sports injuries, repetitive strain injuries, and chronic conditions, such as carpal tunnel syndrome. It can also aid in post-surgical recovery and prevent future injuries by improving muscle function and mobility.

On the other hand, acupuncture has been used for centuries to treat a wide range of conditions, such as chronic pain, digestive issues, stress and anxiety, and even infertility. It works by stimulating specific points on the body to balance energy flow and promote healing. This can have a variety of physical and mental benefits, including reduced inflammation, improved circulation, and reduced stress levels.

Combining active release therapy and acupuncture can provide a comprehensive approach to treating a variety of conditions. Whether it be acute or chronic pain, muscle tension, or restricted range of motion, this combination can target both the physical and energetic aspects of the issue for optimal results.

Who would benefit from acupuncture and ART?

Active release therapy and acupuncture can benefit individuals of all ages and activity levels. Athletes, both professional and amateur, can greatly benefit from these therapies to improve performance, prevent injuries, and aid in recovery. Office workers who spend long hours sitting at a desk or using repetitive motions can also benefit from these treatments to alleviate tension and strain in the muscles.

People with chronic conditions, such as carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, and arthritis can also find relief through active release therapy and acupuncture. By targeting specific muscle groups and promoting overall healing in the body, these therapies can provide long-term relief from pain and discomfort.

Furthermore, individuals recovering from surgery or dealing with post-injury rehabilitation can benefit from both active release therapy and acupuncture. These therapies can help improve range of motion, decrease scar tissue formation, and reduce pain associated with surgery or injuries.

The Facial Acupuncture component can be beneficial in the following areas:

Each treatment involves the insertion of tiny acupuncture needles into specific areas of the face, ears, neck, hands, feet, and legs to affect changes in the face as well as the whole body. On your first visit, we discuss your overall health history, including any physical, mental or emotional issues in your life that you feel you want to work on. We will evaluate what changes you would like to see in your face and skin as well as discuss your overall health goals, and then begin your treatment. Ultra fine needles are inserted while you are relaxing and lying down on a comfortable massage table. Once the needles are in place, you rest for 20-30 minutes. Facial acupuncture treatments are not limited to just acupuncture. They quite often include massage, jade roller and/or derma rollers, application of select herbal washes/toners/moisturizers appropriate for your skin type and tone, and end with a mask application if requested. In general, the treatments are very relaxing and take anywhere from 75-90 minutes.
